ILEWASI PROMOTES SUSTAINABILITY AND PEACE IN EUROPE THANKS TO ERASMUS + PROGRAMS

 Por Taras Syvukha

Within our Erasmus+ KA1 accreditation in the field of youth, we had an opportunity to organize two European mobilities in one project (2023-1-ES02-KA151-YOU-000125451). One was a youth exchange (01/10/2023 - 08/10/2023)  and another was a youth workers training course ACTIVATE-T: Green View (24/05/2024 - 31/05/2024).

In our youth exchange we introduced to young people from Spain, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, and Ukraine the basic concepts of sustainability, green lifestyle, social inclusion and diversity, etc. They had an opportunity to learn how to live in a multicultural community, interact with each other, overcome language barriers, and promote peace.

The main topics of our youth workers mobility activity were eco-friendly practices, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Lazy Person’s Guide to Saving the World, 5Ps of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, and promotion of the Green Europe concept in youth work. We had youth workers from Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Portugal. Together we developed a good network of organizations involved in promoting sustainability and youth work in our local communities.

We used non-formal education and intercultural learning approaches in both activities. Some we used for the first time and developed together with participants. Everyone was introducing new energizers and team-building activities, so everyone would be included in our common activities.

We did intercultural presentations and other informal activities to exchange our cultural and social backgrounds.

We are willing to continue our work and bring more European opportunities for young people and youth workers in Castellon and Europe.
