Del 27 de mayo al 5 de junio, Benicàssim se convirtió en un espacio de encuentro, aprendizaje y amistad gracias al intercambio juvenil Erasmus+ "Youth Goals: Sharing, Understanding & Friendship", coordinado por Ilêwasi junto a organizaciones socias de diferentes países europeos: Italia, Portugal, República Checa y Serbia.
Durante diez días, jóvenes de entre 18 y 30 años compartieron experiencias, culturas, inquietudes y sueños en torno a un objetivo común: reflexionar sobre los European Youth Goals, la inclusión, la diversidad y la participación activa de la juventud en la sociedad.
Desde el primer día, las dinámicas de presentación, los juegos de cohesión y las actividades interculturales ayudaron a crear un ambiente de confianza donde cada participante pudo sentirse escuchado, valorado y parte de una gran familia internacional. Poco a poco, las diferencias culturales dejaron de ser barreras para convertirse en oportunidades de aprendizaje mutuo y enriquecimiento personal.
A través de metodologías de educación no formal como World Café, Open Space, Comunicación No Violenta o Filosofía para Niños (P4C), las personas participantes exploraron temas relacionados con los derechos humanos, la ciudadanía europea, la sostenibilidad, la igualdad y el bienestar juvenil. Lo hicieron de manera práctica, participativa y creativa, demostrando que aprender también puede ser emocionante y divertido.
Uno de los momentos más significativos del intercambio fue la preparación y presentación de propuestas relacionadas con los Youth Goals ante representantes institucionales de Castellón, junto a la responsable de Europe Direct de la Diputación de Castellón. Esta experiencia permitió a la juventud expresar sus ideas, analizar los retos de sus comunidades y sentirse protagonista del cambio social.
La sostenibilidad también tuvo un papel protagonista. La excursión por la Vía Verde de Benicàssim y Oropesa permitió reflexionar sobre la protección del medio ambiente, la movilidad sostenible y la importancia de actuar localmente para construir un futuro más responsable. Además, la creatividad del grupo llevó a superar las expectativas iniciales con la construcción colaborativa de una innovadora "máquina verde", diseñada para fomentar el reciclaje y la concienciación ambiental.
Pero, más allá de los talleres y las actividades, este proyecto nos deja algo aún más valioso: amistades que cruzan fronteras, nuevas perspectivas sobre Europa y la certeza de que la juventud tiene mucho que aportar cuando se le ofrecen espacios para participar y crecer.

Gracias por compartir vuestras historias, vuestra cultura y vuestra ilusión. Cada sonrisa, cada conversación y cada aprendizaje han hecho de este intercambio una experiencia única.
Nos despedimos con la satisfacción de haber cumplido nuestros objetivos y con la esperanza de volver a encontrarnos muy pronto en nuevos proyectos Erasmus+ que sigan construyendo puentes entre personas, culturas y comunidades.
Porque compartir, comprender y crear amistad sigue siendo una de las mejores formas de construir Europa.
From May 27th to June 5th, Benicàssim became a vibrant space for learning, cultural exchange, and friendship through the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange "Youth Goals: Sharing, Understanding & Friendship", coordinated by Ilêwasi together with partner organizations from different European countries.
For ten unforgettable days, young people aged 18 to 30 came together to share experiences, cultures, ideas, and dreams while exploring the European Youth Goals, inclusion, diversity, and active participation in society. Throughout the exchange, participants discovered how young people can play a meaningful role in creating positive change both locally and internationally.
From the very first day, team-building activities, icebreakers, and intercultural sessions helped create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone felt valued, respected, and included. What began as a group of strangers quickly became an international community united by curiosity, solidarity, and a desire to learn from one another.
Using non-formal education methods such as World Café, Open Space, Non-Violent Communication, and Philosophy for Children (P4C), participants explored topics related to human rights, European citizenship, sustainability, equality, and youth wellbeing. Through interactive workshops, discussions, creative activities, and collaborative challenges, learning became an engaging and meaningful experience for everyone involved.
One of the most inspiring moments of the project was the opportunity for participants to develop and present proposals linked to the European Youth Goals. Working in national and international teams, they reflected on challenges faced by young people in their communities and proposed practical solutions based on European values and the Sustainable Development Goals. Their ideas were later shared during an institutional visit, giving young people the chance to make their voices heard and engage directly with decision-makers.

Environmental awareness was also an important part of the exchange. During the visit to the Via Verde route connecting Benicàssim and Oropesa del Mar, participants reflected on sustainable mobility, environmental responsibility, and teamwork in nature. Their enthusiasm and creativity even led to an unexpected achievement: the collaborative creation of a “green machine”, a practical recycling and environmental awareness tool designed to inspire sustainable actions in their local communities.
However, beyond the workshops, presentations, and activities, the greatest outcome of this project was the human connection created between participants. New friendships were formed across borders, stereotypes were challenged, and young people discovered how much they have in common despite coming from different backgrounds and cultures.
